These outdoor trousers from Amundsen are built to keep up with the most relentless outdoor adventurers. They're constructed in organic cotton Ventile – one of the most sought-after performance materials in the mountaineering world. First developed in the mid-20th century, Ventile is a densely woven long staple fibre that swells when damp to provide waterproofing without the need for coatings or treatments. And that comes with a lot of benefits. For starters, it's silent, windproof and incredibly breathable, but also it just doesn't wear out like other outdoor fabrics. There's no need to be forever tech washing and reproofing, and in fact the Amundsen gear testers seem to take a perverse pride in letting theirs get as filthy as possible. Amundsen clothing is named after one of the greatest explorers ever to walk the Earth. No pressure there then.
