These 7-incher field shorts from Norwegian brand Amundsen have a mighty following among rugged Scandi outdoorsmen, and you can see why. Everything about them is engineered to survive seriously rough treatment – from the bombproof stretch Cordura to the top-grade Scottish waxed canvas reinforcement yokes on the front and seat. They're the sort of shorts that you'll only ever need to buy once, and the hard-wearing waxed cotton from Halley Stevensons in Dundee will age beautifully as you put them through their paces year after year. Amundsen clothing is named after one of the greatest explorers ever to walk the Earth. No pressure there then.
