Mantra Heritage Shirt | Unisex

Colour: Canvas

Nineties style, twenties substance

prAna is 30 years old in 2023, and they're celebrating by taking some of their 90s-tastic bestsellers and re-releasing them in updated cuts and materials. This unisex Mantra heritage shirt is classic laid-back beachwear from the days when you wore your hair in curtains and walked around with a Walkman clipped to your waistband – only they've trimmed down the oversized fit, and replaced those crinkly 90s synthetics with a soft yarn dye woven organic cotton. Available in three great-looking designs, the Mantra has a straight hem for wearing untucked, plus a handy chest pocket to carry your Pogs or pager or whatever. It's functional nostalgia, and we love it

  • The need for shorts that offered supreme comfort and mobility was the starting point for PrAna, the California brand founded in 1992 by husband-and-wife team Beaver and Pam Theodosakis. Working out of a small garage in the coastal city of Carlsbad, the duo set out on a journey to make stylish and functional activewear. But there was a higher purpose too – namely, respect for the planet and its people. From the outset, they committed to sustainability and lessening the environmental impact of everything they made.

It was an ethos rooted in the realisation that everything is connected. This concept was encapsulated in the name that Beaver and Pam chose for their brand, prana. It’s a Sanskrit word that literally translates as ‘breath’, but which refers to the universal energy that flows within and among us, connecting us with all other living beings. So, for PrAna, what you wear matters. It matters firstly because clothing that gives you the freedom to move inspires you to chase adventures and stay active. But secondly, it matters because sustainable clothing lessens our impact on the planet. It’s the right thing to do – and the right thing to wear.
