People who sleep on their sides tend to have a rough time of it when they go camping. Unlike back or front-sleepers (yeah, apparently the latter do exist), the shape of the slumbering human body doesn’t conform easily to the hard, flat ground. Aching shoulders and hips are a common result. And that’s before we get on to the problem with standard sleeping bags, which tend to end up twisted around you like a boa constrictor, with the zip digging in uncomfortably somewhere underneath you. If that sounds familiar, the patent pending Sidewinder is going to be a genuine game-changer. Constructed with all the technical features you expect from a high-performance mummy bag, it also employs additional body mapped insulation to optimise warmth where you need it and minimise pressure points. It’s also ergonomically contoured for side sleepers, even if you tend to roll over in the night, thanks to a specially designed hood and footbox
Specifically designed for people who sleep on their sides with a technical fit, patterned to move with you as you roll from one side to the other
Close fitting, jacket-style hood keeps insulation close to the body without sacrificing mobility
Keep pillow in place with unique Pillow Barn made of stretch mesh material with interior access from either side for easy adjustment
Optimised warmth and minimized pressure points with body mapped insulation
Improved shell fabric and lining with PFC-free water repellent finish
Down fill with a PFC-free water repellent finish throughout the bag provides lofty warmth while synthetic insulation helps alleviate common pressure points in the hips and feet
Optimised fit and thermally efficient footbox is patterned to mimic the shape of your foot position while lying on your side
Smooth, quick zip with anti-snag locking zipper with zipper garage and long, ambidextrous zipper
Easily adjust hood without unzipping using low-profile internal cordlock access
Seal out draughts by cinching insulated tube along upper hood opening
Hang dry or store bags with exterior loops
Storage sack & stuff sack included
Works with any pad size or style

Big Agnes is a small, independent US outdoor brand out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado – a small ski-town that we’ve never visited but which we like to imagine is full of mountain-loving, trail-hiking outdoorsy types. That would make sense, since the company makes some of the best ultralight backpacking gear around, including the award-winning Copper Spur, Tiger Wall and Fly Creek tents. It is kit that has clearly been designed by a gang of folks who love sleeping in the dirt just as much as we do here at WildBounds.
Oh, and if you’re still wondering where the heck that name Big Agnes comes from, we did try to find out. Depending on who you talk to, it’s either an affectionate tribute to a legendary truck drivin’ mountain mama, or a 12,000 foot peak in the Mount Zirkel Wilderness. We kinda like the first one better.
The best sleeping bag I've ever used! It kept me warm in Denali..
