The 1970s has a lot to answer for. And we don’t just mean terrible wallpaper and ridiculous hairstyles. It was also the decade of polyester, the so-called wonder fabric that gave rise to some pretty dire leisurewear. This also included the fleece jacket, which are admittedly comfy, warm and breathable – but it also turns out that they’re terrible for the planet. That’s because virgin polyester is made from petrochemicals, a fossil fuel. Which is why this cosy fleece hoodie is instead made from organic cotton and recycled polyester.
