When you're dashing through the city, all the bells and whistles of a hiking pack aren’t particularly helpful. Instead, you need a purpose-built pack that stays glued to your back as you dash through a train station or cycle through the rain. Which is exactly what Black Diamond created when they designed the Street Creek line of bags; turning their years of experience in pack-making into a bag that better responds to the fast-paced demands of city living. Taking inspiration from outdoor ‘haulbags’ of old, this version – the Street Creek 24 – comes with a ton of smart features and durable buckles to keep everything from your gym kit to your work laptop safe and sound. In a flex of fit-for-purposeness, however, the pack also comes with a series of features intentionally designed to solve common commuter headaches. Take the shoulder straps and back panel that were custom-built for commuters: These massively enhance comfort and stability while almost eradicating sway. Or take the removable hip and sternum straps: These cinch everything down tight for better weight distribution, yet can be removed for use in settings when the technical look of additional straps might not be appropriate. Inside, a dedicated laptop sleeve and various other smart storage solutions keep your urban EDC safe and sound — all while the outdoor-adjacent design makes the Street Creek 24 a clear statement piece, perfect for urban adventurers who dream of days outside the city.

Eco Initiatives: Black Diamond supports environmental not-for-profits, whilst making concerted efforts to use renewable energy and recycle as much waste as possible
The Black Diamond story began with a backyard anvil and a hammer, way back in 1957. The hammer in question was wielded by famous US climber Yvon Chouinard – the same man who would also go on to create outdoor brand Patagonia. Chouinard started hand-forging climbing hardware, selling steel pitons from the back of his car in the hallowed Yosemite Valley. Over the years, that fledgling business morphed into Black Diamond, with Chouinard eventually handing over the reins to an equally dedicated group of former employees.
Steeped in mountain heritage, the brand has continued to build on its legacy through innovative, user-driven design, built for demanding adventures on rock, ice and snow. Today, they make a lot more than merely hardware. Which means that Black Diamond isn’t just for climbers, mountaineers and skiers – their duffel bags, headlamps, lanterns and gloves are all much-loved by hikers, backpackers, campers and global travellers alike.
When it comes to sustainability, the brand also strives to stay true to Chouinard’s original ‘clean climbing’ ethos. As a brand, Black Diamond supports environmental not-for-profits, whilst making concerted efforts to use renewable energy and recycle as much waste as possible. But above all, they believe in sustainability through longevity, which means making kit that will stand the toughest test of all: time.
So well designed for commuting. Separate laptop storage so the main compartment is uncluttered.
