The Brindabella 850 XT is a four-season bag for winter hiking and mountaineering trips when the temperature drops well below freezing. Premium white duck down sits inside a waterproof, breathable shell, twin draught tubes along the zip stop heat escaping, and a collar wraps around your shoulders to seal in the warmth. Mont gives it two temperature ratings, -10°C for cold sleepers and -16°C for warm sleepers, so you can see whether it will work for the way you sleep – even in the coldest conditions.

How Do I Dry My Sleeping Bag?
The Do’s
The Don’ts
Ever found yourself halfway up a mountain in gear you wish you hadn’t bought? So did Andrew ‘Monty’ Montgomery. Sick of kit that couldn’t do the one job he’d bought it for, he borrowed a sewing machine in 1978 and made himself a sleeping bag, then a down jacket and a tent. Word travelled fast, and in 1981 he founded Mont in Canberra, Australia. By 1988 it was providing gear for Australia’s Bicentennial Everest climb, and Mont’s kit has since been on ascents of 8000m peaks, polar traverses and ski expeditions across Greenland.
And Mont does all of this while taking responsibility seriously. All of Mont’s down is Responsible Down Standard certified, so the birds are never live-plucked or force-fed. It has partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects since 2020 to restore forest in Honduras, and it’s working towards carbon-neutral status under Australia’s Climate Active programme. The aim is gear that lasts in the harshest conditions on earth while doing as little damage as possible to the places it’s used.
