Friday Unbound: 13th July 2018

Featured in this week's Friday Unbound round-up is an inspirational video of a father-son paddle board trip to Nepal, two excursions into the Welsh hills, some required reading for lovers of outdoor journals and a fun podcast interview with Brendan Leonard - it's a good one.

#1 We love a good podcast at WildBounds HQ, and this episode from The Stokecast interviews Semi-Rad's Brendan Leonard, one of our all-time favourite outdoor writers and creatives. Find a spare hour and give it a listen for some adventure and life inspiration.

#2 Not many dads would take their seven-year-old son on a week-long paddle board trip in Nepal, but David Morton isn't just any dad, and this trip isn't like any other. It's a chance to take his son, Thorne, away from a screen and into the real world, risks and all. And it's so worth it.

#3 Online journalism and content is fantastic for sharing, but sometimes you want to sit down with a coffee and read through a real, printed journal. The kind of thing you take your time over and allow yourself to be inspired by as you leaf through the textured pages. Here, The Field run us through their current favourite six print publications.

#4 We've been excited about the Land Rover Explore phone ever since it was announced at ISPO in January, and this review from Sidetracked looks to confirm those feelings. John Summerton took the Explore into the fierce and unpredictable conditions of Wales' Brecon Beacons and found the phone to be more than up to the task.

#5 Pannier.cc run guided excursions through what they called the "Desert of Wales", and this beautiful video gives a taste of exactly how those camps run, and showcases the spectacular beauty of the Welsh hills at the same time.
