#1 Hey, adventure girl…
Why not make a film about you and your girl crew following your outdoor passions and pursuits? BMC TV is calling on all adventurous women to submit shorts of up to 10 minutes for their 2021 Women in Adventure Film Competition. Go on, we’d love to see what you’re up to…

#2 Queen of the mountains
Talking of adventurous women, meet Rebecca Stephens MBE: the first British woman to climb Everest (back in May 1993, in case you were wondering), and subsequently the first British woman to scale the Seven Summits, the highest mountain on each continent. Here’s how she did it.

#3 Gourmet food from the Canadian backcountry
Heidi Schaffer is the co-owner and operator of the Blanket Glacier Chalet, a remote ski lodge in British Columbia’s Monashee Mountains. Supplies are brought in once a week by helicopter. Yet she still manages to turn out the most incredible comfort food for lodge guests – and here are her top recipes.

#4 Cold play
Something called COVID-19 stopped a lot of us from making the most of summer. Maybe we can make up for lost time this winter – so here’s a Guardian guide to making the most of the season, from cold-weather camping to winter mountaineering.

#5 These animal webcams will make you feel so zen
From otters playing upstream to brown bears in the Alaskan wilderness (our personal favourite), this collection of webcam feeds from across the globe captures animals in the wild and pets at home just doing their thing. It’s the perfect antidote to everyday stresses. Feeling more chill? Thought so.
