Handcrafted in southern Germany, the Stuiben boot from Hanwag is a versatile Bavarian-style hiking boot with seriously impressive build quality. The upper is rugged nubuck leather with a soft padded collar and luxury leather lining, while the grippy Hanwag ZT sole is secured with traditional double-stitched construction – a rarity in this day and age, and pretty much unbeatable in terms of durability. For a mountain-ready boot, it's got a decent amount of flex in the sole, making it really comfortable for high-mileage days. Another thing we really like about the Stuiben is that it doesn't look particularly 'hikery'. With a slimmer sole and lacing that doesn't reach too far down the toe of the boot, it's got a more casual, work-boot style that makes it great for travel and everyday wear as well as big days on the hill.

You will need: socks, a sheet of paper, a ruler, and a pen
Important: Measure both your feet, because most people have one foot that is bigger than the other. Your shoe size is determined using the longest of the two measurements.
