An all-in-on pump, vacuum and lantern

After a long day on the trails, emptying your lungs over and over again into a sleeping pad is enough to make anybody dizzy. And let’s be honest, it sucks. Sure, there are inflation sacks, but they’re finicky and a pain to use — and when you’re desperate for a sit down, you’ll wish you brought something better. Which, for us, is precisely why we love the epic little mtnGLO Pump and Light from Big Agnes. Hyper handy, it quickly pumps up your sleeping pad for you, all while doubling up as an adjustable lantern for creating some outdoor ambience. The morning after, it can also be used in vacuum mode to suck the air back out of your sleeping pad so you can get packed away more easily. And all while being fully rechargeable and weighing about the same as a deck of playing cards.

    • Includes 5 nozzles for use on different types of sleeping pads
    • Can also be used on pool floats, inflatable furniture and vacuum bags
    • Supports both inflation and deflation
    • Lantern has three brightness settings (230/120/30 lumens)
    • Water resistant
    • Comes with a magnetic top for attaching to metal surfaces
    • Total Weight: 102 g
    • Dimensions: 5.9 x 4.6 cm
    • 1600 mAh rechargable battery
    • Full charge provides 3-24 hours of light, and 30 minutes of pump operation

  • Big Agnes is a small, independent US outdoor brand out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado – a small ski-town that we’ve never visited but which we like to imagine is full of mountain-loving, trail-hiking outdoorsy types. That would make sense, since the company makes some of the best ultralight backpacking gear around, including the award-winning Copper Spur, Tiger Wall and Fly Creek tents. It is kit that has clearly been designed by a gang of folks who love sleeping in the dirt just as much as we do here at WildBounds.

Oh, and if you’re still wondering where the heck that name Big Agnes comes from, we did try to find out. Depending on who you talk to, it’s either an affectionate tribute to a legendary truck drivin’ mountain mama, or a 12,000 foot peak in the Mount Zirkel Wilderness. We kinda like the first one better.
