The rain-fly on this lightweight backpacking tent uses NEMO's very own OSMO performance fabric. Made entirely from recycled synthetics, it holds off rainwater four times longer than standard tent fabrics, and also stretches three times less when it gets wet – all of which gives you serious heavy-weather performance at a weight that’s thru-hiker-friendly. The water-repellent treatment is free from harmful chemicals, and it also meets fire safety standards. Aluminium poles and a mesh/taffeta inner keep the weight down to just 1.63kg for this three-person model, but the designers at NEMO haven't skimped on the sturdy 68D PU ripstop floor – something you'll thank them for when it's still intact after serious trail use. We also like the fact that they've given you two doors so you don't have to do too much clambering over each other if nature calls in the night. This is the wider ‘three-person’ model, but it also offers a bit more length and height than the two-person version, making it a better pick for rangier campers.

The idea of NEMO was born one turbulent night on the side of Mount Washington while Cam Brensinger spent a sleepless five hours in a poorly designed bivy. That night he realised how much opportunity there was for thoughtful design as part of the equation of enjoying adventure. And, coming down off the mountain the next day, he resolved to tackle that challenge. Three days after graduation from Rhode Island School of Design, he founded NEMO Equipment.
