We’re not quite sure where this cap’s name comes from. Maybe it’s a reference to a well-known beach hang-out on some Hispanic island, maybe one of the Rhythm designers just loves to get battered on Filipino lager. Either way, it’s a great cap. It comes in either lightweight pre-washed cotton in a sort of sun-bleached black, or ripstop camo, depending on whether you prefer the salty old sea dog look or Vietnam veteran. Custom embroidery detailing adds visual interest in the form of contrast stitching, and there’s also a bit of ‘IYKYK’-style branding that isn’t too garish. The adjustable snapback closure means it actually fits properly. It’s perfect for people who spend plenty of time on the coast, as well as hiking, camping and general adventures: the sort of cap that improves with age and use, developing character rather than just looking beaten up.
There's a certain rhythm to coastal living – the way the tide rolls in, the Pixies-esque loud-QUIET-loud crash of waves, the predictable unpredictability of marine weather. Rhythm gets it. Born from Australia's surf-soaked coastline, this is kit designed for people who structure their days around dawn patrols and who can tell you the swell forecast before they've had their morning brew. Since day one, they've been crafting apparel that moves between beach and daily life without missing a beat, pieces that look equally at home on a clifftop hike or slouched over a flat white in town.
The aesthetic is relaxed without being scruffy, considered without feeling precious. Think oversized fleeces that envelop you like a best-friend’s hug, denim that's been pre-washed to perfection from the get-go, and that rare breed of jersey tee that somehow improves with every wear. It's the sort of gear that becomes part of your routine – the fleece you reach for when the sun disappears below the horizon, the overalls that do double duty in garden or workshop. Rhythm's about finding your groove and sticking with it, building a wardrobe that works as hard as you play.
