  • ROA

ROA is gear built by people who actually look up at peaks, then go and make something to get you over them. The Italian brand started in 2015, when Slam Jam's creative team crossed paths with technical footwear designer Maurizio Quaglia, and the result was gear nobody else was quite making: proper mountain kit with the eye of a fashion house. The brand is named after Forcella della Roa, a mountain pass in the Dolomites, and the whole brand lives in that detail — Italian-made, mountain-minded, and refusing to choose between the two. Proper outdoor materials, construction borrowed from performance sportswear, all of it chosen for how it wears in rather than how it photographs. And that's really the heart of it: ROA set out to make the genuine article, not to chase a trend. It just so happens that along the way, they started setting it.
