Ultralight, weatherproof rucksack for extended trekking and backpacking trips

When you’re planning to take only what you need, the Lightwave Ultrahike 60 is the perfect pack. Its streamlined design fuses functional simplicity with minimal weight. The roomy 60-litre capacity provides ample gear storage, while the internally framed back system, EVA foam back panel and stiffened hip belt offers a comfortable carry. Tipping the scales at an impressive 1.25kg, it is one of the lightest packs in its class, yet has all the features that experienced long-distance hikers look for – a fixed lid with a large external pocket, an internal hydration sleeve, trekking pole attachments, compression straps and twin stretch mesh side pockets. Unlike many ultralight packs, however, the Ultrahike 60 boasts excellent weather resistance thanks to its welded and taped seam construction, making the pack almost completely waterproof. It is also made from durable ripstop fabrics, designed to stand up to sustained hard use on the trail.

  • When New Zealander Carol McDermott first began designing outdoor gear, his main concern was creating lightweight, high-performing kit that would give him an edge in the mountains - you know, the kind of gear without bells and whistles that serious climbers and trekkers crave. So when he founded Lightwave, McDermott didn’t change a thing - and that’s why we love it.
