Sometimes simplicity can be deceptively complicated. For example, take these Piz Selva shorts from storied Alpine brand, Ortovox. At 146g, these lightweight hiking/running shorts appear to have minimal bells and whistles, but look a bit closer and it's a different story. They're made in a combination of elastane and Tasmanian merino wool – making them durable, flexible, breathable and quick-drying. A PFC-free durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment will keep the drizzle at bay, while a wide cut and mid-length offers maximum range of movement.
