Easy as pie

In Scotland, the laird of the pies is probably the Scotch pie, or perhaps the macaroni pie. In Birmingham, it has to be the Balti pie. In London, the steak and kidney is classic cockney fodder. In Wigan, the spiritual home of the pie – it is, after all, where the annual World Pie Eating Championship is held – nothing holds a candle to a meat and potato, sometimes served up as a Wigan Slappy. But whatever you reckon to be the lord of the pies, this five-piece pie set – the original and most iconic piece of Falcon Enamelware – will enable you to feed the whole family with a giant pie or serve up solo portions.

  • Ethically Sourced Materials - Falcon Enamelware uses no animal bi-products in the production process. Historically, traditional enamel used animal bone, which Falcon no longer uses.

  • Enamel mugs and plates are a staple of twentieth century life, both in the home and in the great outdoors. For us, they evoke fond memories of childhood Scout camps – blowing furiously on a steaming mug of hot chocolate to avoid burning our lips on the battered enamel. Others might think of wasps buzzing over plates of food laid out on gingham picnic blankets, or oven-baked apple pies set out to cool on the kitchen table.

And when you think of enamelware, you probably think of Falcon’s iconic white dishes with a blue rim. They are instantly recognisable. And though it might look fashionably retro today, enamelware is ideally suited to modern life, from meals in the garden to family car camping.

  • How can I clean my Falcon Enamelware? - Lemon juice can remove stains from Falcon enamelware products, such as tea stains on mugs. Soaking the products in warm soapy water will help remove baked on food, but avoid using abrasive sponges or brushes as this may scratch the surface. Coating your pans in a light layer of oil before cooking can help with cleaning after use.

If my enamelware chips can I still use it? - Yes. Just like any other ceramic, the outer porcelain layer can chip if dropped, revealing the steel beneath it. When this happens the steel below naturally oxidises and the enamelware remains safe to use. Plus, in our opinion, it gains a little more character.

Great set with all the sizes I need and nestles well together for space saving.
