The commute meets the Klondike

We love that this is what the designers at Filson think a briefcase looks like. With over 120 years of experience outfitting gold prospectors, lumberjacks and backwoodsmen, they've come up with something that's about as far from the traditional black banker's briefcase as you could get. Nevertheless, that's what it is – with a padded compartment for a 15" laptop and internal organiser compartments for all your work bits and bobs. On the outside you've got a full-length front slip pocket for documents, and a smaller one on the back with popper closure. The exterior is Filson's famous 14oz oil finish tin-cloth – the same ultra rugged and water-resistant waxed cotton that clothed Alaskan miners during the Klondike gold rush. It's lined in their lighter, dry-finish cover cloth, with saddle-grade leather handles and a removable cotton webbing shoulder strap. If you've owned Filson stuff before, you'll know it only gets better with age, so good luck trying to wear it out before you hit retirement...

Over the years, Filson's philosophy has never changed: Make sure it's the absolute best. Clinton Filson spent a lot of time talking to his customers and refining his designs to their specifications. So it's not surprising that the items that worked then still work today, over 120 years later. Comfort, protection and durability never go out of style.
