Rugged Filson design with a smarter urban aesthetic

This rugged heritage brand made its name outfitting gold prospectors on their way to the Klondike, and Filson are still best known for gnarly waxed canvas, heavy mackinaw wool, checked flannel shirts and other things that look good with a two-month beard. But Filson's new Surveyor range hits a little different. Made in smart Cordura nylon, this 36-litre backpack has a more stylish, urban vibe that makes it perfect for commuting, city breaks or work trips. And while the Surveyor pack might look a bit more refined, that pioneer spirit is still very much in its DNA. The Cordura fabric is lightweight but extremely abrasion-resistant, and features a dry wax treatment for water-repellency. Contoured shoulder straps and a padded back panel make it comfortable for all-day carry, and you've got plenty of pockets to organise your stuff – including a padded one for your laptop. A MacBook might not have been an essential accessory for an 1890s gold mining camp, but we all have to move with the times

They believe in their products and stand by the quality of workmanship, craftsmanship and materials in each one. Every Filson product is guaranteed for life against failure or damage in its intended usage.
Over the years, Filson's philosophy has never changed: Make sure it's the absolute best. Clinton Filson spent a lot of time talking to his customers and refining his designs to their specifications. So it's not surprising that the items that worked then still work today, over 120 years later. Comfort, protection and durability never go out of style.
