Gorgeous hand-crafted felt basket

‘A place for everything, and everything in its place’. It’s a lovely sentiment, and one that makes for a calm and uncluttered home – but it’s not always easy to achieve, especially when you’ve just hauled in a stack of logs from the woodshed, only to find the couch covered in rumpled blankets or the living room carpet strewn with kids’ toys. Garden Trading’s Southwold Basket is the perfect storage solution to conquer domestic disarray. With two handles and a practical outside pocket, it’s the ideal place to stash throws, logs, children’s toys, laundry and more. Handmade in felt from 100% sheep’s wool, each piece is Fair Trade certified, being crafted by skilled artisans in Nepal. The use of natural dyes gives the basket a soft flecked light grey tone that works with almost any interior, whether traditional or contemporary. The felted texture is a stylish but natural alternative to wicker or rattan

Combining traditional values with modern style, Garden Trading is a family-owned business based in the heart of peaceful west Oxfordshire. Equally inspired by city living and the British countryside, the brand’s carefully curated collections are all designed and developed in-house.

At the heart of the business is founder Jon Holloway, whose vision back in 1994 was to offer well-designed and high-quality outdoor products for everyday living that would stand the test of time. More than 25 years later, the product range has expanded, but every piece stays true to Jon’s original vision, resulting in a range of practical, functional, simple and stylish homewares to complement every lifestyle.
