The snow boot that’s taking ski season by storm
Fubuki's flagship snow boot is inspired by the traditional working boots worn by fishermen and road crews in northern Japan. The Niseko 3.0 is warm, waterproof and absurdly lightweight for a boot this substantial – thanks to a strong EVA outer shell paired with a soft wool-blend lining that keeps your feet insulated without the bulk you'd expect. The cleated rubber sole grips on snow and ice, there's a shock-absorbing heel for all-day comfort, and an ABS composite toecap for protection. Each pair comes with a two-layered removable insole. While Fubuki boots are Japanese-inspired, the brand is actually Swedish, and they’re best known for their range of vivid colours that'll make sure nobody mistakes these for ordinary wellies.

- Step 1
- To clean the outside of your boots, use a soft sponge, some mild detergent/soap, and water. Scrub the boots until they shine!
- To clean the inside of your boots, use a lightly moistured towel (preferably white). Wipe the inside of the boots gently.
- Step 2
- Once cleaned out, leave the boots to dry. This could take a day or two. Whatever you do, don't use a direct heat source. Direct heat sources and your FUBUKIs are not best friends. Never place them in front of an electric heater/radiator, an open fire, in an electric drying cabinet or in a window that gets plenty of sun on a hot day. If your boots happen to be soaking-wet, you could consider using a boot dryer.
- When they have dried out, spray the inside of the boots with some antibacterial shoe spray and leave to "rest".

Confusingly, Fubuki's Japanese-inspired boots and outdoor clogs actually hail from Sweden.
It started with a pair of garish orange boots on the streets of Stockholm. Uni student Kalle Norman had picked them up on a ski trip to snowy Hokkaido, after noticing that pretty much every local liftie, snow-plough driver and workman wore the same unbranded lightweight snow boots – usually in the same bright orange.
Little did he know when he brought a few pairs back to Sweden that his ten-minute walk to campus would turn into a daily fashion show. Strangers stopped him on the street, and even his dad pinched a pair. Everyone wanted in.
Kalle teamed up with childhood friend Christofer Ljunggren, and Fubuki was born. The brand launched in 2019, survived a pandemic and a typhoon that destroyed their Japanese supplier's factory, and has since grown from 100 pairs stacked in a Stockholm student flat to over 300 stores across 14 countries.
Fubuki means 'snowstorm' in Japanese, but their wellies and outdoor slippers have proved just as popular as the original snow boots. Across the range, everything's made to be warm, waterproof, durable and surprisingly lightweight, in colours that refuse to blend in.
