Camp comfort at backpacking weight
Lots of camp chairs claim to be suitable for backpacking trips – and then you look at the weight and size specs and you realise they're absolutely not. But here's one that REALLY is. The NEMO Moonlite Elite tips the scales at just 526g and packs down to the length of a school ruler. They've been incredibly crafty about pruning down the weight, replacing the suspension straps on the standard Moonlite with 2mm cordage made from an ultra-strong HTP/Dyneema blend. The hubs for the chair legs are super-light forged 6061 series aluminium, and even the corner mounts have been skeletonised to shave off every last gram. All of which makes it more surprising how comfortable the Moonlite Elite is – with a clever reclining system for the ultimate in ultralight decadence. One of our favourite touches is the tool roll-style carry case, which includes corner sleeves so you can use it as a platform on sandy ground
