Menja is the sort of glove that looks like it’s always existed rather than something designed last season – slim-fitting hairsheep leather, a decorative leather strap and press stud at the wrist, and a warming knitted wool lining that copes fine even if it gets a bit damp on the walk home. The leather itself is treated to be water-repellent, and the thumb and index finger are touchscreen-compatible, so checking a map or a text doesn’t mean peeling the whole glove off. It’s built for the milder end of winter – quiet autumn walks and everyday errands – rather than anything approaching extreme cold, which is exactly what most UK winters actually call for.

Hestra Gloves are manufactured in their own factories and they personally buy all leather, fabric, wool and other materials. Both design and development is done at the headquarters in the small village Hestra, Sweden. Hestra has presence all over the world and manufacture gloves for sports, fashion and professional uses. In 2015, they produced over 2 million pairs of gloves.
