Adventure ready and understated lightweight shorts

Although we love shorts with lots of pockets and storage when we’re out in the wild, there are times when something with a bit less of a rugged style and a bit more casual cool is needed. Originally hailing from Vancouver means the folks at DUER have always looked to thread the needle between practical and stylish options and the new Live Free Journey Short are no exception. With a sleek cut and welt pockets they’ll blend right in at those ‘smart casual’ summer get-togethers, offering a mid-length 10” seam. At the same time the antibacterial fabric and low profile zippered leg pocket offer nice practical touches and create a versatile pair of shorts that don’t yell “adventure” but are definitely up for it.

DUER set up shop in 2013 intent on bridging the gap between fashion and functional clothing. With 25 years making jeans for big names like Levi Strauss and a new love of cycling, Gary Lenett saw an opportunity for purposeful fashion that didn’t exist on the market. He partnered with Abid Hafeez, a performance fabric expert with over 25 years of experience with technical brands, and DUER was born. Today, all of their garments are manufactured in a factory in Lahore, Pakistan owned by DUER’s founders, who ensure ethical working conditions for their employees.
