Snow Peak's GigaPower Folding Torch is designed for one very specific job – getting a fire going, even when your firewood's been sitting in the rain for days on end. The mini-flamethrower folds down to a compact size for transport, then unfolds and screws directly onto an iso-butane fuel canister. Turn the brass control knob to release the gas, ignite, and you've got a powerful flame that'll light even damp wood or get charcoal going in a jiffy. The wooden handle stays cool while you're using it, and the mix of stainless steel, aluminium, and brass construction feels like a tool that'll still be working in twenty years. It comes with its own carrying case, which is the kind of thoughtful detail that Snow Peak fans expect.
