Feature-packed activity trousers with a clean and casual silhouette

The biggest gripe with most outdoor trousers is that they LOOK like outdoor trousers. You know, that distinctive function-over-form fit that does the job admirably on the trail, but looks a bit out of place when you're propping up the bar at the end of the day. So it's great to see these versatile Double Peak pants from prAna, with their smarter cut and slightly tapered fit. What's more, behind their casual good looks, this is a seriously practical pair of trousers. The quick-drying organic cotton and recycled polyester blend fabric is moisture-wicking and abrasion-resistant, and they've cut it with a dash of elastane for stretch. A ventilated inseam gusset ups both flexibility and breathability, and that streamlined silhouette hides plenty of pockets for your essentials – including a secret zipped one hidden in the seam

The need for shorts that offered supreme comfort and mobility was the starting point for PrAna, the California brand founded in 1992 by husband-and-wife team Beaver and Pam Theodosakis. Working out of a small garage in the coastal city of Carlsbad, the duo set out on a journey to make stylish and functional activewear. But there was a higher purpose too – namely, respect for the planet and its people. From the outset, they committed to sustainability and lessening the environmental impact of everything they made.

It was an ethos rooted in the realisation that everything is connected. This concept was encapsulated in the name that Beaver and Pam chose for their brand, prana. It’s a Sanskrit word that literally translates as ‘breath’, but which refers to the universal energy that flows within and among us, connecting us with all other living beings. So, for PrAna, what you wear matters. It matters firstly because clothing that gives you the freedom to move inspires you to chase adventures and stay active. But secondly, it matters because sustainable clothing lessens our impact on the planet. It’s the right thing to do – and the right thing to wear.
