The ultimate ultralight bikepacking tent
A lot of ultralight shelters seem roomy enough – but by the time you’ve stashed all your kit inside, unrolled your mat and sleeping bag, and then climbed in, you suddenly seem pretty cramped. And that’s before you even think about how and where you’re going to secure your bike overnight. Big Agnes’ Copper Spur HV UL has been specifically engineered to overcome these problems. It is an ultralight, free-standing three-season tent designed with bikepackers in mind. It utilises a high-volume design to ensure ample living space and has additional features to make two-wheeled travel easy, including a more compact packed size to make it easy to fix the tent to your bike frame, plus storage for your bike helmet and other kit.
- Newly redesigned with more interior volume and using stronger, lighter, more sustainably sourced fabrics
- 12" Shortstik Poleset gives a compact packed size that will fit easily onto handlebars, panniers and saddlebags – or save space in your trekking rucksack
- Compression stuff sack features multiple bike-frame attachment configurations, with daisy-chain webbing system
- Simplified setup with proprietary tent corner construction and unique TipLok Tent Buckles
- Proprietary ultralight nylon double rip-stop, mixed denier fabric offers extra tear-strength and puncture resistance without adding weight
- Smooth-closing, dual-zipper door with easy-grip zipper pulls on two doors and two awning-style vestibules (UL2) with storm flaps on the vestibule zippers
- Ease of entry with dual zipper door and quick reach-through access using only one zipper, stow unzipped door easily with Quick Stash door-keeper on tent body door
- Stash oversized gear in 3D shelf, utilizing dead space above your feet or securely store helmet on top of tent body with elastic webbing and use daisy-chain webbing loops on the fly exterior to dry wet clothes and gear
- Maximized storage options with oversized ceiling pocket and multiple interior loops for use with gear lofts, tent lanterns and other accessories
- Media pockets located above sleeping area with earbud-cord outlets for listening to music or your favourite podcasts
- Increased airflow and reduced condensation through fly vent with low vent feature on the vestibule doors for more airflow while still providing vestibule coverage
- Easy to pitch any time of day with reflective guylines and color-coded webbing on tent corners, extra stability with velcro tabs that connect fly to pole structure, and ready to pitch with pre-cut guylines and tensioners attached to fly

Big Agnes is a small, independent US outdoor brand out of Steamboat Springs, Colorado – a small ski-town that we’ve never visited but which we like to imagine is full of mountain-loving, trail-hiking outdoorsy types. That would make sense, since the company makes some of the best ultralight backpacking gear around, including the award-winning Copper Spur, Tiger Wall and Fly Creek tents. It is kit that has clearly been designed by a gang of folks who love sleeping in the dirt just as much as we do here at WildBounds.
Oh, and if you’re still wondering where the heck that name Big Agnes comes from, we did try to find out. Depending on who you talk to, it’s either an affectionate tribute to a legendary truck drivin’ mountain mama, or a 12,000 foot peak in the Mount Zirkel Wilderness. We kinda like the first one better.
