When LA-based travel photographer Erin Sullivan found herself stuck inside due to COVID-19 lockdown, she began creating tiny worlds in her apartment. The result is an amazing series of photographs titled ‘the great indoors’, made using everyday objects and miniature figures.
#2 Range Rover turns 50
After the Jeep and the Land Rover, the Range Rover is arguably the most iconic 4x4 vehicle ever. And though it is now just a status symbol, the original had serious expedition chops – in 1972 it became the first vehicle to cross the length of the Americas. In 1977 it won the London-Sydney Marathon, then in 1979 it won the first ever Paris-Dakar rally. This gallery celebrates the venerable Rangie’s half-century.
#3 First shots of the new ‘dune buggy’ Mars Rover
To a Rover of an altogether different kind – indeed, a vehicle being developed for a different planet. Dubbed ‘Fetch’, this is the four-wheeled ‘dune buggy’ being built for the 2026 mission to Mars. It will be about the size of a Fiat 500 but will sit on 28” all terrain wheels and will be equipped with a custom-made robotic arm to retrieve rock samples.

In a piece of research that sounds like it has come straight from Q-branch, Israeli scientists have revealed a new ‘lamphone’ technique that can enable spies to eavesdrop on conversations, simply by watching a light bulb’s vibrations.
